In this video from Thursday, September 26, 2024, floodwaters rise to the point that River Road will stay underwater for three days. Stranded residents would not see if the road was passable until the floodwaters receded.

This is the peak of the flood on Friday, September 27, 2024. There was no way to know what was happening in town at this point in time.
